BAND SUPPLY LIST
*If ever there is financial difficulty in renting or purchasing an instrument or supplies, please reach out to Ms. McGowan so she can assist you and find a solution that works best for your student and family!*  We do have a limited number of instruments at BMS to rent out for the year.

 

Students will be provided the following items: 

• Locker

• Black band binder (only for new students; returning students should have their binder from the previous year).

 

All beginner band students need to provide the following items:

• Pencils

• Essential Elements Book 1 for their respective instrument

• Tuner Caddy with Korg Tuner

 

Bridgeport ISD offers an instrument rental through the district. 

The fee is $30 for all year. 

Smaller instruments are a first-come, first-serve basis while equipment is available. 

We partner with SAIED Music Company to provide supplies and instruments for our students.

Clarinet

Saxophone

Instrument rented or purchased by parent/guardian.

Tuba

Percussion

Instrument rented or purchased by parent/guardian.

Kit with pad and bells - no snare drum. We prefer Vic Firth, Pearl, or Yamaha. Innovative Percussion is good too!

Optional Accessories: Vic Firth Educational Elementary Stick Bag, Vic Firth T-1 Timpani Mallets

Students who choose to be in band in middle school will have an instrument tryout towards the end of the school year. In order to guarantee a tryout time, students must sign up for band as their first choice on their course card. Instrument Tryouts will be held in April of 2024.
